[Explanation] The 339.88-meter-high Xiamen International Center was recently auctioned off as a whole, with a total valuation of nearly 5.2 billion yuan, which has attracted attention from all parties. The tall building was formerly known as the Xiamen Post and Telecommunications Building, which has not yet been completed.

On September 16, the reporter visited this ill-fated "Xiamen's tallest building."

[Explanation] Walking into this building, I saw construction tools scattered all over the place. Except for the security guards at the door, it was quite desolate. This "Xiamen's tallest building" uses 47,000 tons of steel, which is equivalent to 7 Eiffel Towers in Paris.

As early as 1997, its design was officially approved. It has 66 floors and an actual area of 28,000 square meters.

Later, the post and telecommunications were separated and the project was assigned to the postal system. Due to insufficient funds, the project was stranded after the completion of the designed 8-story podium in 2003.

[Explanation] Since then, "the tallest building" has begun to actively look for buyers.

It was not until 2010 that Fujian Yongrong Electric Power Group took over the market at a price of 2 billion yuan. In August 2011, the Post and Telecommunications Building was officially renamed Xiamen International Center. In September 2012, the Xiamen International Center project officially entered the construction stage.

[Explanation] This building was only capped in 2017.

As of October 2018, the glass curtain wall was basically completed.

However, due to the funding breakage, the project was once again suspended and the investor entered the public auction process recently.
