He explained that the first period of the pandemic witnessed some importers exploiting the high demand for sterilizers in the local market, and raising the prices of raw materials, especially alcohol, whose prices rose from three or four dirhams per liter to 16 dirhams per liter, forcing local companies The producer sought to buy at this high price, and a tangible impact on her profits due to the high cost of production.

For his part, the retail expert, Davy Nagpal, attributed the low original prices of sterilizers to the abundance of production, whether imported or domestic, after many countries entered the market for the production of sterilizers, as it is a profitable sector now, and many traders have turned to importing sterilizers after they found that the demand high.

Nagbal stressed the need to continue to tighten monitoring of the markets, to ensure that sterilizers will continue to be available at reasonable prices during the coming period, after the significant increase in their prices and their lack of availability at the beginning of the pandemic.

Reducing customs procedures
