The Central Bank explained that the reserves decreased "mainly as a result of the decline in gold prices and the revaluation of assets in reserve currencies against the background of the strengthening of the US dollar on world markets in the specified period."

Earlier it was reported that the volume of operations of the Bank of Russia for the sale of foreign currency in the domestic market with settlements on August 19 amounted to 3.1 billion rubles.
