According to the deputy, the scale of the envisaged sanctions indicates that the initiative comes "not from some aggressive senators."
At the same time, as Naumann emphasized, the tone of the letter "is not appropriate for a dialogue between partners."
"With such threats, the former" country of freedom "is increasingly becoming a toy of geopolitical risks in the spirit of (US President Donald - RT ) Trump," the German deputy concluded.
Earlier, US senators sent a letter to the operator of the German port of Sassnitz, in which they called for an end to work to support the construction of Nord Stream 2 in order to avoid "destroying the future financial condition of their enterprise."
