"Nord Stream 2 has taken note and will assess the claim filed by Deutsche Umwelthilfe (DUH) in the Supreme Administrative Court of Greifswald against the Stralsund Mining Authority to review the pipeline's operating permit," the statement said.

It also noted that the Stralsund Mining Authority at the end of June rejected DUH's application to revise the permit for the project.

Earlier, DUH challenged in court the issuance of a permit to commission SP-2.

Environmentalists argue that the decision did not take into account "new scientific information about uncontrolled methane leaks."
