On August 3, flight 9C6267 safely arrived at the T2 terminal of Zhangjiakou Ningyuan Airport, marking the official opening of the new T2 terminal of Zhangjiakou Ningyuan Airport and the successful transfer of the terminal. According to reports, on July 31, 2015, Beijing and Zhangjiakou successfully bid to host the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, and Zhangjiakou Ningyuan Airport assumed the task of air transportation security for Olympics. In order to better serve the guarantee work for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, in October 2018, Zhangjiakou Ningyuan Airport's reconstruction and expansion project was officially launched. The reconstruction and expansion project included the eastward extension of the runway to 3,000 meters, and a new 3,000-meter parallel taxiway and a vertical connecting road. Second, build a T2 terminal of 14,000 square meters, expand the apron by 74,500 square meters, and add 11 parking spaces and other related infrastructure.
