Inditex, the textile giant that owns Zara, held its shareholders' meeting today, in which it approved a dividend of 0.35 euros, in charge of the 2019 results, and which will be paid in November. In this pandemic context, Pablo Isla, president of the group, highlighted "the strength and flexibility" of the company's business model, which currently already has 94% of its stores open.

The meeting was held electronically, due to the health crisis, and which Amancio Ortega did not attend. According to Isla, this first half of the year "has been highly conditioned by the pandemic," but Inditex's "ability to react and adapt" has been revealed.

During the period of confinement, with 90% of the stores closed, what grew was the online channel, with an increase in sales of 95% in the month of April , when de-escalation began.

Yesterday, June 13, the textile giant already has 94% of its stores open worldwide. "The situation is gradually returning to greater normality, " said Isla.

The executive has highlighted the 2,500 million euros that Inditex has invested in technology since 2012 , 10,000 million in recent years. Sales grew last year by 6.5% in comparable area (in all stores that have been open for a year, not counting openings or closings). In the last five years sales have grown 56% and 38.4% to comparable area.
