All the characteristics have not yet been announced (in particular the power which is estimated at minimum 300 horsepower) but we already know that the 0 to… 50 km / h - do not laugh, it is the reference acceleration of electric - will be cut down in less than 3 seconds, and the 77 kWh battery pack will give the Cupra el-Born 500 km of autonomy. Adaptive DCC damping, with a Sport mode, will also be studied specifically for the model.
An ID.3 R?
This announcement suggests that VW could also prepare a muscular version of its ID.3. Rumors are already circulating on this subject and more officially, Frank Welsh, Head of Research and Development for the VW brand, has announced that the ID.3 R project is indeed under study. The Electric Age Golf GTI therefore seems to be on track, but will not be there until 2024.
