The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced the launch of the "Rapid Response Initiative", which is an electronic platform dedicated to buying and selling personal protective equipment, and it is considered a reliable electronic market.

In a statement, it stated that the platform is targeting companies and health care providers in the Emirates, to help them secure this equipment, by facilitating their access to approved suppliers.

According to the Chamber, the electronic market connects the trusted parties involved in buying and selling personal protective equipment and medical supplies, and aims to meet the growing demand by companies for this type of product, while ensuring that all parties in their products adhere to the safety standards approved by the government of the UAE, and their tireless efforts Aiming at reducing the spread of the Corona virus emerging (Covid-19).

After the initial launch, the platform includes 15 approved suppliers in the UAE, as all companies that buy and sell medical equipment can register on the platform for free, and it is available to all companies in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. Products currently on the online market include: surgical, reusable face masks and shields, goggles, hand sanitizers, single-use gloves, medical coats, respirators, and thermometers.

This initiative, which is the first of its kind, supports the efforts of the "Dubai Chamber" to enhance the ease of doing business and facilitating trade, and the emirate of Dubai is established as an international smart city that harnesses Digital tools in support of efforts to combat the emerging coronavirus (Covid-19).

He added that the launch of the platform came in conjunction with re-equipping factories across the Emirates, to produce personal protective equipment.
