During the meeting, the application of the business free zones portal project was approved, which will provide investors with a communication channel with all the free zones in the Emirate of Dubai, and facilitate them to see the advantages provided in all free zones, and choose the most appropriate free zone for them according to their investment needs.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Free Zones Council, said in a statement yesterday, that the “Free Zones Corona Post-Action Plan” devotes the efforts of these regions to enhance their position in supporting the economy, and prepares to complete the program of drawing the geographical economic map of Dubai, Which represents the second item of the fiftieth document, which was announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and drawn according to the model (Dubai Free Zones 2.0), aimed at strengthening Dubai's position as a global destination for investment, and as a model for regional integration Free economic specialized in various sectors, and the transformation of the emirate into specialized, integrated and free economic zones ».

His Highness stressed that the coming period requires concerted efforts and joint work between all free zones and at the highest levels, to coordinate and cooperate to build an eco-economic system that serves the strategic sectors of the emirate, to make Dubai the ideal destination for foreign investment and business establishment.

The council members also reviewed a plan to create a unified record of license numbers in the free zones, so that each free zone will have its own code, in line with the strategy of the council to create an integrated database for free zones.

This number will be used to obtain information about companies registered in the free zones, in addition to that it will help to facilitate the process of moving companies from one free zone to another, if it so desires.

The Council also discussed, during the meeting, the extension of the time period for the unified package that was previously launched to support the business sector in the free zones for a similar period, in light of the economic repercussions of the Corona pandemic, by providing facilities for payments and canceling some fines for companies, and refunding the amounts of guarantees and insurance . To reduce the financial burden on companies operating in the free zones.

The Council discussed the initiative to establish a special zone for electronic games, where the proposals of the working group were presented, after consulting with relevant stakeholders such as the Department of Economic Development and the Dubai Media Office, in addition to experts from the private sector and companies working in the field of electronic games.

During the meeting, members were also briefed on developments related to the law of realistic economic activities, and the expected impacts on the free zones sector and the companies operating in them.
