The improved version of the Volvo on Call app now allows drivers to view a number of indicators, including the distance traveled in all-electric mode and their electricity and fuel consumption.
In a few months, the service will also allow them to know the impact of their driving on their carbon footprint and to obtain an estimate of the fuel savings achieved by driving in all-electric mode. "Just as a pedometer encourages people to exercise more, I am convinced that access to detailed information on their driving habits will encourage motorists to drive more sustainably", enthuses Björn Annwall, head of the EMEA (Europe Middle East & Africa) region at Volvo Cars.
In Europe, 25% of Volvo cars sold are already plug-in hybrids. Recall that the ambition of the Swedish manufacturer for 2025 is to sell 50% of electric vehicles and 50% of plug-in hybrids. Production of the first 100% electric model, the XC40 Recharge P8, will start in late 2020.
