A report issued by the Dubai Economic Registration and Commercial Licensing Sector showed that the total of effective and operating companies in the field of vegetables and fruits trade reaches 2495 companies, of which 557 companies are working in the field of trade in dried fruits and vegetables, and companies operating in this field are licensed from 1963 until this year .

The Dubai Economy confirmed, in a statement yesterday, that the vegetable and fruit trade sector benefits from the exceptional advantages provided by the Emirate of Dubai in terms of developing infrastructure and the readiness of logistic services, as the speed of achievement in providing services is one of the basic advantages provided by the emirate for this vital sector.

The number of 2495 licenses was distributed according to the main regions in the Emirate of Dubai, and the lion's share of Bur Dubai was a total of 1522 licenses, then Deira with a total of 961 licenses, and the Hatta region by 12 commercial licenses. The report indicated that the distribution of licenses to the top 10 sub-regions was as follows: Ras Al Khor Industrial Rd, Ras Al Khor, Al Garhoud, Port Saeed, Ras Al Khor Industrial Second, Al Ras, Al Murar, First Commercial Center, Al Karamah, and Hor Al Anz East.

According to the report, the total number of business men and women in the vegetable and fruit trade in Dubai reached 8,799 investors, of whom 8,596 businessmen and 203 business women, while the rate of corporate survival in this sector reached 86%.

With regard to the legal form of licenses working in the field of vegetables and fruits trade, licenses of limited liability institutions come first with 1963 licenses, followed by individual institutions with 283 licenses. The legal forms also include civil works, a limited liability company, one person, a branch of a company based in another emirate, in solidarity, and a private shareholding.

In its report entitled "The market of vegetables and fruits in the UAE, trends, growth and expectations 2020-2025", the Research and Market International said that the UAE is the second highest food consumer in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries after Saudi Arabia. The report added that the value of the vegetable and fruit market in the UAE amounted to 13.6 billion dirhams in 2018, and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 9.93% during the projected period 2020-2025.
