The Ministry of Energy and Industry announced that it has developed a national platform for medical products and supplies concerned with combating the pandemic as provided through the “Emirates Manufacture” portal, the unified digital portal for the industrial sector in the country, which was previously launched in coordination and cooperation with local economic departments and members of the Coordinating Council for Industry in the country.

In this regard, Minister of Energy and Industry Suhail Al Mazrouei said that the platform will work to support the health security system in the country by monitoring the national medical factories and their products related to the pandemic of Covid 19, where he invited the national factories concerned to register in the platform, praising the great flexibility shown by the national factories in Re-employ its production lines and raise its production capacities to meet consumer requirements and needs during the current crisis, which has had a great impact on the sustainability of product availability in the country’s markets.

The platform aims to shed light on the industrial productive capabilities enjoyed by the United Arab Emirates in light of the unprecedented conditions in our world today, and to develop a unified database at the country level for factories and national products that contribute to fighting the virus Covid 19 and enhance readiness in anticipation of any similar crises in the future.

For his part, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Industry Eng. Sharif Saleem Al-Ulama said that the Covid 19 pandemic has surprised the global industrial sector in a big way, and changed the priorities of strategic medical products, as medical protection requirements became a necessity during epidemics and crises. His Excellency also stressed the importance of enhancing the productive capacities of national industries to provide for the need of the local market and the continuity of the leadership role of the state in supporting regional and international supply chains with the necessary products.

For his part, Assistant Undersecretary for Industrial Affairs Eng. Osama Amir indicated that the first stage of the platform aims to provide decision makers and buyers with a list of vital products for the Coved 19 pandemic and contact information with national factories, provided that upon completion of the data the productive capacities and that it be an effective link between the national factories And buyers from inside and outside the country.

It should be noted that the Covid Products 19 platform will be through the portal “Emirates manufactures” (uaemakes.com), the unified digital portal for the industrial sector in the country, as the portal allows investors and entrepreneurs to communicate with any party within the industrial sector system in the country, as it aims to attract Investments in the industrial sector and facilitate decision-making by providing a comprehensive system of information, policies,
regulations and procedures for industrial licenses at the country level.
