His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, confirmed that the issuance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to Law No. (4) of 2020 regarding the regulation of drones in the Emirate of Dubai is considered an essential pillar to make Dubai among the forerunner cities globally in anticipating and making the future within the civil aviation sector, which is one of the essential components of the local and national economy, thanks to its continuous development, moving forward towards achieving His Highness's ambitious vision of Dubai becoming an airport for the world.

His Highness said: «There is no doubt that this law is an essential step to enable the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, and facilitate its mission in implementing the“ Dubai Sky Dome ”initiative, to build a structural environment system for drones, as this law contains the decisions and legislation necessary to define the responsibilities of regulation, supervision and oversight On the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, it also includes designing and developing an integrated framework for licensing services, issuing certificates, permits and no-objection certificates, inspection related to unmanned aircraft systems, and providing a legal system to investigate accidents and flight incidents related to the operation of these systems.

It is noteworthy that the drone systems have received increasing attention, as one of the important future developments in the civil aviation sector, and the transport sector in general, and in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Executive Council, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority has presented a detailed project for the drone systems policy, which was called the "dome" initiative Dubai Sky ».
