Suzuki Across - DR

The gigantic investment costs caused by the hunt for CO2 are pushing manufacturers more and more towards partnerships that allow costs to be shared. In this context, Suzuki has teamed up with Toyota to take advantage of decades of hybridization know-how. And the first model resulting from this collaboration is this Across which, you will have recognized it yourselves, is a fact a Toyota Rav4 mainly retouched at the level of the nose.

Rechargeable hybrid

More specifically, it is the plug-in hybrid version, equipped with a 2.5-liter petrol engine combined with two electric motors. The total power of the system is 306 hp, but the electric motors (one at the front and one at the rear, so it's a 4x4) are capable of evolving alone over 75 km. On paper, CO2 emissions are only 22 g / km. Unfortunately, the Suzuki Across does not have a DC connection to take advantage of quick recharges.

It remains to know the price which should be announced in autumn, when it is marketed. We imagine that the Suzuki will be cheaper than the Toyota.
