China News Service, July 2nd. At the Ministry of Commerce’s online press conference on July 2, the spokesperson Gao Feng said that China has not taken any restrictive and discriminatory measures against Indian products and services.

A reporter asked at the press conference: Due to the tension on the Sino-Indian border, some media reported that both countries are continuously strengthening import regulations and suppressing each other’s exports. How much impact will this have on China’s foreign trade enterprises exporting to India?

Gao Feng clarified the reporter's question as above. He said that India’s relevant practices violated the relevant WTO rules and India’s commitments in the WTO, and hoped that India would immediately correct the discriminatory practices against China and Chinese enterprises.

Gao Feng pointed out that China-India economic and trade cooperation can achieve today's achievements, which is the result of the joint efforts of both governments and enterprises, and is in the fundamental interests of the two peoples. China attaches importance to strengthening pragmatic cooperation in various fields with India, and hopes that both sides will go hand in hand, earnestly implement the economic and trade consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, promote the healthy and stable development of bilateral economic and trade cooperation, and make efforts to achieve common prosperity between the two countries and the region.

Will it affect the RCEP negotiations? Gao Feng revealed that at present all parties concerned are advancing negotiations in an orderly manner according to the established goals and pace.
