From time to time, for very special models, Lamborghini turns away from its names from the world of bullfighting. Behind the somewhat poetic name SCV12 hides the nature of the beast's engine - a V12, for those who have not understood - and the department that developed the car, the "Squadra Corse".
V12 anthology
The main characteristic of this machine is the very advanced aerodynamic work to which it is subject. With big shots from the front spoiler, large carbon rear spoiler and various appendages scattered all around the body, Lamborghini announces that the car generates more support than a competitive GT3. And there is better.
The SCV12 has a naturally aspirated V12 engine, which is the most powerful ever produced by Lamborghini. It delivers indeed more than 830 ch, without turbo, but with a certain form of "feeding" all the same. This is again the aerodynamic work which makes it possible, at high speed, to push the air into the engine, thus giving rise to what Lamborghini calls "aerodynamic supercharging".
Not on the road
As we said in the intro, no chance of one day crossing the SCV12 on the road, since like the Ferrari XX series, this car is strictly reserved for use on the circuit. And more precisely, for use in "Track Days", since there is no question of homologation in competition. This is therefore a toy for wealthy clients. Furthermore, there is also no risk of seeing this Lambo at Track Days of ordinary people, among the Golf GTI and Renault 21 Turbo prepared. By buying the car, customers are also automatically enrolled in a program set up by Lamborghini, which provides outings on the most prestigious circuits in the world, and driving lessons supervised by a certain Emanuele Pirro, five-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The number of cars produced and the price will be announced this summer.
