• Transport: Germany raises the recommendation not to travel to all EU countries except Spain

The Government is going to advance the opening of its borders to neighboring countries by June 22, instead of July, as it had initially announced.

This was announced by the Minister of Tourism, Reyes Maroto , this Thursday. He has indicated that Spain will reopen on June 22 its land borders with France and Portugal . They have been closed since the end of March, when borders were closed to prevent the coronavirus pandemic from spreading.

"In the case of France and Portugal, I also wanted to confirm that from June 22 the restrictions on land mobility will be removed," the minister said in a meeting with the international press.

The head of Tourism has indicated that in principle "the quarantines will be eliminated" for 14 days now imposed on people entering Spain. The Government had imposed a quarantine on anyone who came from abroad. In principle it was to last until July 1.

The citizens of France and Portugal will be the first Europeans to enter our country. Germany said yesterday that it will lift the recommendation on the 15th of not to travel in the Schengen area, but excluded Spain, as a counterpart to the mandatory quarantine of the Pedro Sánchez government.
