The 9th edition of the Cofidis / CSA barometer "The French and their purchasing power" reveals the concerns of many French people after the period of confinement. Thus, 62% of respondents believe that their personal financial situation "will be more affected in the coming months," said Le Figaro on  Thursday.

But the situation of the French is divided into two: those whose financial situation has not been impacted by the health crisis and those who have lost part of their purchasing power. Thus, 75% of people who earn more than 3,000 euros per month say that this crisis has not "reached their personal financial situation" because they have often been able to continue their activity full time.

Purchasing power under attack

On the other hand, 26% of the workers, 24% of the CSP- and 22% of the employees declare that they have been placed on partial unemployment and they therefore received only compensation equivalent to 84% of their net salary.

"Four out of ten French people are already seeing their purchasing power attacked by the crisis," explains to Figaro  Mathieu Escarpit, marketing director of Cofidis. According to him, half of French people are worried “for his professional future, and 74% do not trust in a rapid economic recovery. They believe that the wave is ahead of us ”.
