This week Apple will reopen its stores in Spain but they will not be all and the environment within them will be very different from what it was before the pandemic. On Thursday, June 4, only four of the 11 stores that Apple has in the country, those of Valencia, Zaragoza, Murcia and Marbella, will allow entry with limited capacity to the venue and following a special security protocol.

The client will see as soon as a self-diagnosis questionnaire arrives at the door, asking if they have recently suffered from the symptoms associated with COVID-19. Then an assistant will take your temperature . If fever is detected, access to the premises will not be allowed.

The use of masks will also be mandatory to visit the stores, although since in Spain their use is already mandatory, the requirement is redundant. Even so, if for any reason the customer does not have it, the store will provide one.

Once inside, a two-meter security separation must always be respected. Employees will also undergo periodic temperature checks and stores will increase the frequency of cleaning and disinfection of exposed products.

These openings are intended, above all, for users who need to make changes or repairs to their products . Although devices can be purchased, the company recommends continuing to do this through the web. The classes and workshops that Apple usually holds daily in its establishments will continue to be suspended indefinitely.

Only the four aforementioned stores will open to the public this week, although Apple sources have confirmed that, as the de-escalation process progresses in the different regions, they will also open other centers in the country.

Apple began closing its stores in China in early February but reopened them after the initial outbreak of the virus in the country, on March 12 . Due to the spread of the pandemic, however, it decided to close stores in the rest of the territories on March 14.

In the presentation of his latest results, he acknowledged that these closings, together with supply problems due to the closure of factories in China during the month of February and the economic crisis derived from the pandemic, will negatively affect the accounts. For the first time in many years, the company has not given investors a guide to the revenue it expects to earn during the current quarter, in which it has launched new models of iPad, iPhone and MacBook computers.

Since mid-May, in any case, Apple has begun reopening many of its stores. As of today, more than 259 establishments of the 510 that it has distributed throughout the world already operate with a certain normality, although always under these protective measures. All stores in Australia and Germany have been doing it for weeks, for example. Those of Italy also, except those located in the Lombardy region, which remain closed. All Apple stores in Japan have also opened this week.

In the United States, the main market for Apple, almost half of the stores have opened in recent days, although five of them have been forced to close indefinitely due to the looting and riots that have occurred as a result of protests over the death of George Floyd.
