Etihad Airways announced that it is preparing to operate its regular flights, starting from the first of next July, at a time when it began receiving travel reservations.

A spokesman for the company said, in press statements yesterday, that the suspension of passenger flights to and from the UAE is still in effect, indicating that this decision was taken as part of the continuous efforts to contain the spread of the "Covid-19" virus, and is subject to continuous review.

The spokesman added that the operation of upcoming flights will be gradual, in light of the travel restrictions imposed, pointing out that travelers can currently book at the available destinations on the airline's website.

He emphasized that «Etihad Airways» will increase the number of private flights throughout next June, which are operated from Abu Dhabi to a number of major destinations around the world, as well as connecting flights between the United Kingdom and Australia.

He stressed that the carrier continues to fully comply with the directives issued by the UAE government, international governments and regulatory and health authorities, and that operating flights is subject to lifting travel restrictions around the world, as the carrier plays its role in helping to limit the spread of the emerging corona virus (Covid-19).

He pointed out that, in order to ensure the safety of passengers on board "Etihad Airways", the company has implemented a comprehensive sterilization program for all passenger crossing points, including: food services, deep cleaning of aircraft and booths, thermal examination, and health examination.

He stated that the call centers of Etihad Airways are experiencing great pressure from calls at the moment, pointing out that travelers who booked their flights with a travel agent must contact directly with their travel agent to make any adjustments or cancellations.
