The Department of Lands and Properties in Dubai stated in a statement that was published on the website of the Dubai Government’s media office today that a new system for registering sales of real estate sales has been adopted allowing real estate owners to sell their properties remotely and from anywhere in the world, which helps them to complete their transactions and procedures without the need to be present In person, coming to Dubai or appointing another person to complete this process.

The new system allows communication with the seller and buyer directly, documenting procedures through video calling and multiple means to verify the owner and his consent to the sale, as well as ensuring the transfer of funds through an escrow account that guarantees the rights of all parties, through which funds are transferred within three working days To the seller’s account, and through this system, the department succeeded in registering approximately 550 sales of approximately 600 million dirhams.

The total real estate dispositions that the department has carried out remotely over the past two months, and through the partial work of the offices of the real estate registry secretary, reached 3,000 real estate actions from selling / donations.

For his part, Director General of the Land and Property Department, Sultan bin Butti bin Majren said, "We are working with our partners from government departments to implement the future vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God bless him, and aims to make Dubai one Among the smartest cities in the world, and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council for all government departments to accelerate the transition to the smart environment through government accelerators initiatives, and we are pleased to work with the "Dubai Smart" department to develop a system Automated and secure registration allowing completion of the procedure Through the land system, anytime, anywhere in the world where the property owner is located.

Bin Mejren added: "The current conditions that the world is going through contributed to speeding up the implementation of a part of this system so that we can provide quick and reliable real estate disposal operations, which are registered even in light of the inability of all the parties of the sales to be present with the registrar, and we have already succeeded in registering nearly 550 real estate sales through the remote registration system, including sales made to owners from outside the country in Europe and Asia, and the amounts were transferred to their accounts abroad easily and safely. "

The registration procedures are carried out by sending the details of the sales pledge to the registrar, and after verification of the property and the parties and the amount of the disposal, the amount of the sale is transferred to an escrow account managed by the Land Department, and after verification of the seller and the buyer through visual communication and other procedures to verify all parties, The transfer of ownership from the seller to the buyer is completed, the amount transferred to the seller and the title deed is transferred to the buyer. Although this system takes a longer time than the standard registration method, it guarantees more accurately the rights of the seller and the safe transfer of the sales value, while the department is currently developing the system according to an approved program to reach a smart and secure real estate registration using the mechanisms of artificial intelligence and blockchain technology.
