Ushio Jiro Ushio retires as chairman 13:04 on May 13 where he has been the top management for over 50 years

Mr. Jiro Ushio, who was the founder of Usio Electric Co., Ltd. and has been the top management for over 50 years, retired from his position as chairman and became an advisor.

According to the company, Mr. Jiro Ushio (89) retired from the role of USHIO Electric Co., Ltd. as Chairman of the Board of Directors as of the 12th and assumed the post of Director Counselor.

He said that he had requested to leave the company because he had established a reliable management system as a result of efforts to strengthen the company's business base and create new businesses.

Mr. Ushio joined the then-era Bank of Tokyo in 1957, and founded Ushio Electric in 1964, and has been managing as president and chairman for more than 50 years.

He has been involved in the formulation of the government's economic and fiscal policy, including serving as the lead secretary of the Keizai Doyukai for four years from 1995, and as a private member of the Economic and Fiscal Advisory Council since 2001.
