  • The Brittany region and the Banque des Territoires are helping small businesses and associations that are likely to suffer in the coming months.
  • The Covid Resistance fund, endowed with 27.5 million euros, will be available from Friday.
  • Economic and associative actors will be able to benefit from loans at zero rate under certain conditions.

"We are not going to save the world with this but at least we are taking our part in these times of crisis". President of the Brittany region, Loïg Chesnais-Girard knows that the coming months will be tough for economic and association players in the region. "There are already dramatic social situations in certain companies," he says. And others are likely to file for bankruptcy very soon. ” To help them overcome the crisis, the Brittany region has set up a fund, called Covid Resistance. It is endowed with a sum of 27.5 million euros, matched by the region, all local authorities as well as the Bank of Territories.

Complementary to state aid, this fund is mainly intended for very small businesses, players in the catering and tourism sectors as well as associations. "The threshold has been set at less than one million euros in turnover and less than ten employees for companies and less than twenty employees for associations," said Olivier Sichel, director of Banque des Territoires.

A zero rate loan from 3,500 to 30,000 euros

If they meet the criteria, small Breton companies and associations will therefore be eligible for this fund and will therefore be able to submit their requests online from Friday. "All of these players are in urgent need of cash and we must therefore help them to restart in order to continue their activity and maintain their jobs," emphasizes Loïg Chesnais-Girard.

This financial assistance will take the form of a 36-month zero-interest loan, with an 18-month grace period. Depending on their size and location, companies can claim a loan in the amount of 3,500 to 10,000 euros and 3,500 to 30,000 euros for associations. New specific aid for tourism and cultural players, very hard hit by the crisis, should also be announced in the coming days.
