Regularly cited by the Minister of the Economy, the automobile industry is one of the sectors to be revived as quickly as possible in order to save jobs. Like many businesses, the dealerships were able to reopen on Monday, to the satisfaction of dealerships, but also of more and more customers who are interested in "clean" vehicles.

Alongside tourism and aeronautics, the automotive sector is regularly cited by the Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, among the priority industries, those to be relaunched quickly to save jobs. After the factories, which have resumed very gradually, the concessions have reopened since Monday ... to the great satisfaction of customers who have been patient for two months.

"I watched a lot of videos on the vehicle, I projected myself, I projected myself ... and finally the big day arrived!" Enthuses Cédric, customer of a car dealership in Chambourcy (Yvelines). He had been waiting for this moment for two months. He should have picked up his car on the first day of confinement. 

"Enjoy, ride, go for a walk ... It's really two birds with one stone, I come out of the confinement and I take the opportunity to make an authorized trip, legally ... It is magnificent," he smiles. under his mask.

Recovery plan expected by customers and dealers

Protective cover inside, disinfected key, no testing for two in the car ... All precautions are also taken for Amélie's car, a liberal nurse, very relieved to have finally been able to change her tires. "I couldn't change them during confinement, it's still essential I couldn't have waited any longer," she said.

In this concession, no stock to sell at any cost, nor of sold cars. Sales manager Quentin Barbier has noted a renewed interest in "clean" vehicles, although some customers are still hesitant. "Just a customer who told me that he was going to wait until the government offers were put in place to find out what aid he was going to have on electric and hybrid cars," he recalls.

Announced by the Ministry of the Economy, the recovery plan is eagerly awaited, both by customers and by dealers.
