To give visibility to businesses, the Confederation of Small and Medium Enterprises (CPME) asked the government on Monday that the stimulus package be announced "before the summer" and not in the fall.

"This recovery plan, it must be announced before the summer, to approach the summer and back to school in confidence," said its president François Asselin at the microphone of RTL. At the end of April, Bruno Le Maire, the Minister of the Economy announced that a recovery plan was being prepared but that its "establishment" would "certainly not be done before the start of the school year, before September or October".

A recovery plan "in sectors that generate a lot of labor"

"The first act that makes you hope when you are a business manager is when you have visibility, roughly when your order book is good or will fill up," said the president of the CPME. For him, "we must not only maintain the business support system - we need it before finding a level of activity - but immediately give prospects".

The government must "focus this recovery plan on sectors that generate a lot of labor," added François Asselin, adding that it had to be structured around "vertical axes" with large networks of subcontractors. like aeronautics and "transversal activities, which take other activities with them", like building.

Hire young people

The President of CPME called for "an energy renovation plan, which not only improves the structural quality of our buildings but at the same time saves money". He also cited "heritage, a great lever for tourism: one euro invested is 3.5 euros return on investment". On the question of a possible increase in working time at the end of the crisis, he judged that the question might arise later but that "before knowing if we will have to work more, we must first have more work. "

François Asselin finally said that his organization had called for a “special effort” to hire young people. “It is important to integrate youth into our businesses, but the first concern is the level of activity. If a company does not have enough activity, it will not recruit. So I'm going back to the stimulus plan which should not delay, "he insisted.
