“On April 24, 2020, the Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia decided to lower the key rate ... to 5.50% per annum,” the statement said.
Earlier, Central Bank Chairman Elvira Nabiullina said that lowering the key rate would be the main option for discussion at the next meeting.
On March 20, the Central Bank maintained its key rate at 6% per annum.
