China News Service, Beijing, April 20 (Wang Qingkai) The first gas storage group in western China, the Wenjisang gas storage group in the Tuha Oilfield, has officially started construction.

It is reported that after the completion of the project, gas storages such as the Hutubi gas storage in Xinjiang and Tarim gas flooding will be built together to form a gas storage center of 20 billion cubic meters in northwest China, which can guarantee the West-East Gas Pipeline and The safety of gas supply in the cities along the route will further improve the safety guarantee capability of the natural gas channel in western China.

It is reported that the Wenjisang gas storage group is located in Shanshan County, Xinjiang, and it is reconstructed from three depleted gas reservoirs such as Wenxi First, Qiudong and Wen 8 with a total investment of 7 billion yuan and a total storage capacity of 5.6 billion cubic meters. The working gas volume is 2 billion cubic meters, and it is expected that the on-site engineering construction will be completed and put into operation one after another in 2025. This is China's first low-porosity, low-permeability, low-yield, strong heterogeneous and complex gas storage type gas storage group, and an important supporting project for the West-East Gas Pipeline.

On April 10, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Finance and other five departments jointly issued the "Implementation Opinions on Accelerating the Construction of Natural Gas Reserve Capacity". The document called for accelerating the construction of gas storage infrastructure, strengthening the overall planning and layout, and promoting the natural gas pipeline network and LNG Infrastructure such as receiving stations are interconnected. The "Implementation Opinions" put forward a number of supporting policies from the aspects of land, finance, taxation, finance, and investment to increase the enthusiasm of enterprises to invest, and encourage enterprises to accelerate the supplement of shortcomings in the construction of gas storage infrastructure.

After nearly 20 years of scientific research and practical exploration, China has continuously tackled the technical problems of gas reservoir-type gas storage construction under complex geological conditions, creating the most complex fracture system, the deepest single well buried, the highest reservoir pressure and temperature, and the lowest pressure coefficient. Waiting for the most of the construction of gas storage in the world, it broke through the “forbidden area” of gas storage site selection, realized the efficient use of complex gas storage space, overcome the technical bottleneck of engineering construction, solved the gas storage risk warning, and successfully solved The major problems of "injection, survival, and acquisition" have ended China's history of "have no gas".

At present, China has built 27 gas storages with peak shaving capacity of over 12 billion cubic meters, and formed supporting technology systems for gas storages and salt caves. With the development of the national economy, the domestic demand for natural gas is increasing. It is expected that the demand for natural gas peak shaving capacity in China will exceed 100 billion cubic meters. (Finish)
