So that the partially unemployed workers in the Renault branch which makes trucks can receive a sum closer to their original salary, the executives agreed to an average reduction in their remuneration of 8%.

When the fight against the Covid-19 even abolishes the class struggle. At Renault Trucks, which manufactures trucks in Saint-Priest, near Lyon, managers have agreed to lower their wages so that workers who are part-time workers are not penalized. The agreement was signed three days ago.

In theory, the metallurgy agreement allows partially unemployed managers to keep 100% of their salary. But this is not valid for workers. And, since March 18, those of Renault Trucks Saint-Priest and Bourg-en-Bresse only receive 84% of their remuneration.

"A loss of around 300 euros for each frame"

The 2,300 executives of the factory therefore agreed to lower their wages so as to increase that of the workers. "On average, this will result in a loss of around 300 euros for each manager, or 8% of the salary," explains Europe 1 Karine Perrin, logistics project manager. "I am happy to do so. It is an act of solidarity in this period of uncertainty which can psychologically shake families. It is a just measure."

The employer is also making a move. This will allow workers to receive 92% of their salary until July. For Grégory Kiaty, worker in Bourg-en-Bresse, that will ... "200 euros more". "It is not nothing. It is a good thing this solidarity between employees," he salutes. For the time being, truck manufacturing has stopped. Only that of spare parts continues, at a very reduced rate.
