At the microphone of Europe 1, Laurent Milchior, co-manager of the Etam group, explains the strategy of reopening the stores of the ready-to-wear brand for post-containment. Detailing the various security measures for buyers and employees that will be implemented, he warns that it is very likely that the stores of the Etam group will not all be open the day after the deconfinement. 

If caregivers are still on the front line against the coronavirus after more than a month of struggle, the announcements of the President of the Republic Monday during his speech prompted many actors to think about post-containment. Emmanuel Macron's objective is to introduce progressive deconfinement from May 11. A date that questions mayors, responsible for the gradual reopening of schools, and stores, which, after several weeks of closure, will be able to accommodate customers.

"The priority is to treat the sick"

This will be the case for Etam, a ready-to-wear and lingerie brand. Guest of Europe 1, Laurent Milchior, co-manager of the group, nevertheless explains that the Etam stores will certainly not reopen all from May 11. "It is not certain that the very dense areas will be reopened," he said. 

"The priority is to treat the sick and not to saturate the hospital system. So it is according to the curves of the epidemic that we will see where we can reopen our stores", explains Laurent Milchior.

"We are going to have masks, visors"

But the group has prepared itself for all of the options for equipping employees and fitting out sales outlets. "We took a certain number of measures that we are in the process of implementing and we had to order the equipment for the reopening," said Laurent Milchior.

"We have to pre-empt decisions and equip our stores. So we will have masks, visors, store cleaning equipment", explains the co-manager of the Etam group at the microphone of Europe 1, saying that counters "which will make it possible to limit the number of people in the point of sale if necessary" will be installed.

Laurent Milchior goes on to explain that a reflection is underway on the changing rooms, a compulsory place in a ready-to-wear store. "We are also changing our sales ceremonial so as not to approach customers. The 'Click & Collect' will be available at the entrance to the stores to avoid going inside," he concludes.
