  On April 17, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs received a report from the China Center for Animal Disease Prevention and Control. After being diagnosed by the Jiangsu Center for Animal Disease Prevention and Control, the African swine fever epidemic was detected among the three illegally transported pigs seized in Shuyang County. There were a total of 17 pigs in the batch, 8 were sick, and 3 died.

  After the outbreak occurred, the local authorities have initiated an emergency response mechanism in accordance with the requirements, treated all live pigs harmlessly, and thoroughly disinfected the relevant disposal sites, environment, and roads. At present, the batch of live pigs has been processed according to regulations, and the epidemic investigation and traceability work is in progress.
