The center explained to «Emirates Today» that one of the most prominent services that are provided around the clock is the “order on petition” service related to complaints related to temporary and urgent matters, including cutting service facilities that require urgent intervention from the center.

"The 100% of the center's services are provided remotely, including what is provided around the clock, such as (order on a petition) services that enable the complainant to communicate his complaint quickly to the center," said Judge Abdel Qader Mousa, head of the Rental Dispute Resolution Center.

He explained that the “order on a petition” service allows the clients to “record an application” for the judge of urgent and temporary procedures, requesting “proof of status” in the event of cutting off the facilities services, and accordingly the center moves to communicate with the owner to return the service, as soon as he receives the request via the electronic system.

He stressed that in the event that the owner is not responded, the center will address the police to call him, and alert him to return services immediately.


Cutting services

Judge Moussa indicated that the center relies on the use of the police agency, on the text of Article 34 of Law No. 26 of 2007, regarding the regulation of the relationship between renters and tenants of real estate in the Emirate of Dubai, which prohibits the lessor from cutting services to the property, or exposure to the tenant in any way. , To prevent the property from being used, and that the landlord (owner) may not cut the basic services (utilities) of water, electricity and air conditioning from the tenant, under any circumstance, even if this circumstance is a delay in paying the rent, as this entails him in a legal violation that requires imprisonment or the fine.
