As early as 14 years ago, Sanya City Phoenix Island International Cruise Port was built and put into operation. Today, as long as the weather is good, Phoenix Island can be seen from any beach on the 22-kilometer Sanya Bay. Phoenix Island, where the cruise port is located, has become a landmark of Sanya, but the development of cruise tourism has been slow. In 2019, Sanya received more than 23 million tourists, including 88,600 passengers from cruise ships.
In response to the cruise ship's "big" radiation-powered vessel, Sanya has launched a new round of layout when the new coronavirus epidemic situation at home and abroad is unclear. On March 18 this year, Sanya held a "cloud signing" ceremony with a cruise industry company from Shanghai to reach strategic cooperation on the settlement of cruise ships and the opening of routes.
Tang Sixian, a researcher at the Sanya City Tourism Bureau, said that Sanya will focus on the cruise port as a theme consumer business district integrating "eating, housing, transportation, travel, shopping and entertainment", forming a business, commerce, trade and culture. , Tourism and other high-end service industries in one modern service industry ecosystem. It will cultivate and develop the market in a targeted manner, develop cruise routes around the Hainan Island, and make Xisha cruise tourism bigger and stronger; expand cruise routes from Sanya to the South China Sea and even Asia to meet the demand for tourists' maritime tourism consumption.
In Sanya, the yacht gradually faded away from the label of “luxury”, became increasingly popular, and gradually entered the “menu” of mass tourism consumption.
Sanya Hongzhou, Luhuitou Plaza, Banshan Peninsula and other yacht terminals have a total of 903 yacht berths. At present, there are about 500 yachts in Sanya, and there are about 60 professional yacht charter companies registered in Sanya. According to statistics from the maritime department, in 2019 Sanya Yachts made 91,243 sailings (an increase of 27.77% year-on-year) and 783,111 passengers (an increase of 29.73% year-on-year).

"Sanya took the lead in supporting yacht companies to carry out yacht charter business, promote the free yachting of Qionggang, Macao and yachts, and also organized a number of professional yacht sailing events." Compared with cruise yachts, cruise ships are the most popular among the “three boats”. In the past year, 15,274 cruises traveled to the sea, and the number of people received was 1.0932 million. For the main product "Night Tour Sanya Bay", Sanya plans to enrich the lighting scene, enhance the attractiveness of the project, and guide cruise companies to enrich the experience products on cruise ships.
