The Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi yesterday revealed doubling the allocations for subsidized monthly goods for citizens, providing 16 outlets to distribute and sell more than 133 basic food commodities to the residents of the emirate, and to deliver them to senior citizens and people of determination free of charge, at a time when the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi requested consumers to purchase the necessary goods , And away from storage.

The director of the Commercial Protection Department in the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi, Mohammed Al-Rumaithi, said that the consumer is largely responsible for price stability in the markets, and he bears responsibility at a rate ranging between 60 and 80%, calling on consumers to buy only the necessary goods they need, and away from storage and not listening to rumors .

Al-Rumaithi pointed out during a briefing to the department through the "Studio 1" program on Abu Dhabi channel yesterday that some traders took advantage of the global crisis of the "Corona virus" and raised the prices of some commodities, stressing the presence of work teams deployed in the markets, carrying out inspection campaigns to control the markets and punish Violators, at a time when the government interferes in the event of a shortage of any commodity at the supplier.

Al-Romaithi explained that the initiative to secure and provide the needs of the residents of Abu Dhabi with consumables provides the first of two services, the first is to secure the consumables and provide them through multiple sales outlets, and the second is the safe and fast delivery of materials and food and consumer goods to homes.

For his part, Sultan Khalfan Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of the Sub-Municipal Operations Sector at the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi, revealed the doubling of allocations for subsidized monthly goods to citizens coinciding with the approaching month of Ramadan.

He emphasized the provision of 16 outlets to distribute and sell more than 133 basic food commodities to the residents of the emirate in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra, and to deliver them to homes for those who wish to do so at a symbolic price, noting that the delivery to senior citizens and people of determination is free.

He explained that the initiative aims to provide the needs of the people of the emirate with goods at reasonable prices, and help to stay at home, and reduce congestion in the major shopping centers.

Al-Naimi pointed out that the purchase takes place through electronic applications, while the financial dues are paid through it, with the availability of goods being delivered through the drivers of the integrated transportation center, or sending a delegate to receive the goods, indicating that the time taken does not exceed an hour.
