The Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi revealed that it closed one economic facility and violated 7 facilities and warned another 52 facilities during intensive inspection campaigns that it carried out during the period from the thirtieth of March to the fourth of April.


The department said in a report on the results of its inspection operations that it withdrew 64,421 fraudulent and incompatible products, and it also confiscated 1 million, 3, 3, and 141 products that were not usable, and distributed 1734 educational publications during the same period.


The department noted that it had inspected 5352 economic establishments, including 533 outlets for sale and groceries, 979 centers selling vegetables, fruits and fish, 3126 restaurants, a mobile cart, coffee shop, 249 pharmacies, 334 establishments selling health supplies, 41 shopping centers, 90 sports clubs and a women's salon.


The department indicated that one of its most important priorities is to protect the consumer and ensure his rights, noting that its inspection campaigns aim to reduce negative impacts and wrong practices and enhance the transparency of the business sector environment.
