The Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Police, confiscated large quantities of expired and unusable preventive medical gloves, amounting to about one million gloves.

The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development stated that this confiscation took place during a large-scale inspection campaigns carried out by the inspection and supervision team in the department on warehouses and stores in the emirate during the evening sterilization period the evening of yesterday.

She pointed out that the confiscation of goods came within the framework of protecting consumers from any harmful practices in order to preserve the safety and health of members of society, and in the context of addressing fraud and fraudulent practices.

A video broadcast by the department on its pages on social media revealed that Dubai Economic inspectors found the gloves in a store in a company in the emirate packed in hundreds of "cartons" in packages ready for sale.

After the inspection, the inspectors discovered that the gloves are old and expired to use, noting that the company put new stickers with a new and unreal date of validity over the actual old stickers that show the old expiration date that has already expired.

It is noteworthy that the goods that the department confiscates and which are adulterated or imitated and not usable, are collected every period and executed in designated places.
