Two planes were designated to evacuate more than 80 Emiratis from the United Kingdom on April 5 and 7, who were either studying or receiving medical treatment, and were unable to return after all flights to and from the country were suspended on March 24.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Khaled Abdullah Belhoul said that these two trips from 43 trips were organized to return 1783 Emirati citizens from all over the world, and that there are 22 evacuations going on and will be completed in the coming days to return about 641 Emirati citizens to the homeland.


He added: "We are proud of our team, which worked tirelessly during the past week to help UAE citizens return to their homes."


For his part, Ambassador Mansour Abdullah Khalfan Balhoul, the country's ambassador to the United Kingdom said that the welfare of our citizens is our top priority, and for this reason our government has taken strict measures to stop the spread of the new Corona virus inside the country, and that such firm commitment also means that our citizens stay at home safe in this difficult time.
