The Director General of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Hamad Buamim, revealed that the Chamber has obtained a pledge from a remarkable number of international multinational companies and family companies in the emirate, to contribute to financing the «Community Solidarity Fund against the outbreak of the emerging corona disease (Covid-19)» and carry out its responsibility Toward its society in which it operates, and support the business environment in the emirate in these sensitive circumstances in the global economy.

He stressed that the "Fund", which was launched by the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai, represents a fundamental step towards facing the economic, social and health challenges brought about by the new Corona virus, noting that the private sector will play a major role in exercising its social responsibility in supporting the fund, and pointed to the contribution of the Chamber Dubai, with an amount of 10 million dirhams, in the "Fund", and will complete its role with a set of initiatives aimed at activating the role of the private sector in reducing the negative impacts of the new health, human, economic and social consequences of the Corona virus in the emirate.

Bouamim confirmed that the chamber has drawn up an action plan to support small and medium-sized companies, which suffer in these exceptional circumstances, in addition to supporting construction workers and real estate projects who have finished work on their projects, and have cut back their means of return to their countries.

The private sector will play a major role in exercising its social responsibility.
