Lootah continued: «Consumer cooperatives in the country play a very important role in regulating and stabilizing the market, especially in retail trade, which makes them an essential pillar in the country’s food security system, especially as they work according to mechanisms that contribute to advancing the economy forward by relying on their distinguished experiences ».

In turn, the Director of Happiness and Marketing Department in the "Union Cooperative", Dr. Suhail Al Bastaki said: "We intend to open the (Al Warqa) and (Al Barsha South First) centers as quickly as possible, to increase our total inventory by 30%."

He added: «The number of food and non-food commodities in our showrooms reaches more than 69,000 different commodities, which gives comfort and convenience, because that meets all the needs of society. Since we are on the eve of the blessed month of Ramadan, we have been keen to enhance this stock through our contracts, which amounted to about 400 million dirhams, to provide the goods that the Emirati community needs at competitive prices. ”

Global standards

The Union Cooperative operates according to international standards in the area of ​​public health and safety, even before the onset of the disease, as well as its proactive initiative to provide sterilization materials at the entrances to all its branches for free, and its eagerness to sterilize the vehicles completely.
