A spokesman for Etihad Airways said that over the past weeks, Etihad Airways has flown evacuation flights to a number of countries, which has made it easier for their citizens to return to their homes in light of the current travel restrictions to limit the spread of the "Covid-19" virus.
These charter flights were facilitated, which were approved by the government of the United Arab Emirates and the concerned authorities, and Etihad Airways evacuated the citizens of the country from various countries around the world to the capital Abu Dhabi, and these trips also transported food shipments in support of the national food security strategy in the country.
Among these trips were a number of destinations such as the United States, Australia and Sri Lanka, as these flights were approved by the government of the Emirates and Etihad continues to work closely with the relevant authorities to continue to operate these flights as requested.
The flights will be resumed regularly from April 5 to a number of destinations, the first being Seoul, followed by Melbourne, Singapore, Manila, Bangkok, Jakarta and Amsterdam. All destinations are subject to government approvals.
