His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Supreme President and Chief Executive of Emirates Airlines, and the group said: The carrier has obtained the approval of the competent authorities in the Emirates to start operating a limited number of passenger flights as of April 6.
In a tweet on his account on the social networking site "Twitter", His Highness added, "These trips in the beginning will transport travelers and visitors from the country who wish to return to their countries."
He added, "The Emirates Air Cargo will also use these flights to support trade and societies, and we will announce the details soon."
His Highness said, “(Emirates Airlines) looks forward to the resumption of passenger services gradually, in line with the lifting of restrictions imposed on travel and operation, including ensuring health measures to protect our employees and customers. As usual, we place their safety and well-being always our top priority.”
