Dubai Economy reported that it confiscated around 400,000 anonymous masks in a warehouse and a restaurant, in violation of the law and the authorized activity. The restaurant and warehouse were closed and the necessary violations were released.
Ibrahim Behzad, Director of Intellectual Property Department in the Dubai Economy, said: “In continuation of the control and inspection campaigns on the markets, yesterday the inspection teams managed to seize a restaurant in the International City area in Dubai, which is suspended from the practice of the current activity in accordance with the decision to stop the shops, but he shaded The storefront and turned into a warehouse to store the masks, and 50 thousand masks were seized for the face, in violation of the law and the nature of the shop's authorized activity, and these masks were confiscated and the shop was closed and violated according to the established procedures ».
He added that the store was seized after a process of tracking past cases and reaching suppliers who sell masks at high prices and for the purpose of monopolizing the market.
Behzad pointed out that a warehouse bearing a "commercial" name was also seized for the activity of maintenance and cleaning of buildings in Ras Al Khor in Dubai, where 350,000 unknown masks were found inside, along with quantities of food, and it was reached after tracking previous cases, during which Confiscation of about 1.5 million anonymous masks.
He continued: «The inspection teams also seized a car that was bringing large quantities of empty boxes to the mentioned warehouse, and was prepared specifically for this warehouse, in order to fill the masks inside and put them on the market, and the warehouse was closed and the previous quantities were confiscated and brought to the department’s stores.
