INTERVIEW

The coronavirus health crisis has many economic consequences. The coronavirus and the related containment measures could cause France to lose 2.6 points of GDP according to a note from the French Observatory of Economic Conditions (OFCE) published Monday, a loss of around 60 billion euros in one month. Certain sectors are completely paralyzed: tourism, catering, while more than 20% of French employees could find themselves on short-time working. Emmanuel Macron had assured that there would be no bankruptcy but the situation is difficult for companies. François Villeroy de Galhau, Governor of the Banque de France, reacts on Europe 1.
