Within the continuous efforts of the Ministry of Economy to follow up on the markets, Eng. Mohamed Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al Shehhi, Undersecretary for Economic Affairs, held a remote meeting, with representatives of consumer cooperatives in all emirates of the country, during which he discussed the state of the stock of basic commodities and the prices of food commodities and materials related to sterilizers and detergents, especially gags, Al-Shehhi called during the meeting to provide masks for cooperative societies at a cost to meet the needs of consumers and ensure price stability in the markets.

A press statement said that Al-Shehhi stressed during the meeting the need to report any resource that raises the price of food and non-food items related to disinfectants and detergents, taking advantage of the current conditions, and clarified that the Ministry teams are present in the markets in cooperation with local authorities and monitor daily the status of supply and demand, and impose immediate sanctions Any supplier who manipulates prices or practices unlawful behavior.

For their part, representatives of consumer cooperatives emphasized the availability of a safe stock of basic commodities, the availability of a large and diversified supply of commodities on the market, and thanked the Ministry for its continuous efforts and its rapid handling to overcome the various challenges facing the supply and demand process.

They explained that prices are stable in the markets, and that commodities of all kinds are available in the sales outlets of consumer cooperatives and cover the needs of all consumer groups, whether in relation to food commodities or sterile materials, masks and detergents.
