China News Agency, Beijing, March 2 (Reporter Liang Xiaohui) China announced on March 2 that it has officially identified 16 new occupations, including online distribution staff and artificial intelligence trainers, which have attracted much attention from the society. This is the second batch of new professions officially released since 2015.

What is a new career?

New occupations refer to occupations not included in the Occupational Classification Code of the People's Republic of China (2015 Edition), which already have a certain number of employees in social and economic development, and have relatively independent and mature professional and technical requirements. The new occupation information mainly includes: occupation name, occupation definition and main job tasks.

How is a new job identified?

China's new career was selected in accordance with procedures such as open solicitation to the society, organization of expert assessment and demonstration, and public solicitation of opinions.

For example, after this round of new job recognition started, a total of 64 organizations submitted 139 new job proposals. Compared with the previous batch of new job applications, the number of application agencies increased by 1.5 times and the number of proposals increased by 2.4 times.

After expert appraisal, public consultation, and other procedures, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of China, the State Administration of Market Supervision, and the National Bureau of Statistics jointly issued 16 new occupations, mainly concentrated in the two fields of emerging industries and modern service industries.

What is the significance of the new job release system?

Officials said that the new occupation release system is an important way to establish a scientific and standardized occupation classification system and an effective measure to establish a dynamically adjusted occupation classification mechanism.

In 1999, China promulgated the first national occupation classification book, which included a total of 1,838 occupations. In the 21st century, new occupations are constantly emerging and developing, and they need to be recognized and standardized at the national level. A new occupation release system has emerged as the times require.

In 2004, China released new occupations for the first time. By 2009, more than 120 new occupations were released. In 2010, the state initiated the revision of the occupation classification code, and in 2015, it completed the revision and promulgated a new version of the national occupation classification code.

The release of new occupations is generally considered to have three positive meanings: it is conducive to promoting employment and entrepreneurship, is conducive to leading vocational education and training reforms, and is conducive to industrial development.

According to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Affairs, as economic and social development continues to nurture new formats and generate new occupations, the state will collect, standardize and publish these new occupations, which can improve the social recognition and credibility of new occupations and meet the two-way human resources market. Choose needs to promote employment and entrepreneurship. (Finish)
