The Insurance Authority confirmed that health insurance policies of all kinds cover communicable and communicable diseases and viruses unless an exception is provided for otherwise.

The authority stated in a statement yesterday that the basic health insurance policy usually excludes epidemics, provided that it is officially announced that the sickness caused by any disease that is valid or contagious constitutes a pandemic.

And the commission added that in the event that no official announcement is issued from the competent authorities in the country regarding the contagious disease such as "Corona virus" constitutes a pandemic, the insurance companies remain responsible for providing the necessary insurance cover for the health care services needed for the people included in the health insurance documents.

The authority affirmed its keenness to work with all relevant governmental and private bodies and institutions to ensure that appropriate health insurance services are provided to the insured and beneficiaries quickly and without any delay and in a manner that ensures the provision of the best insurance services to those who are entitled to them.
