Hong Kong Disneyland has announced that it will close its doors from Sunday until further notice, due to the new Corona virus, a decision made after the announcement of a maximum health emergency in the city.

Chinese President Xi Jinping had warned that China was facing a "dangerous situation", blaming the "accelerating" epidemic of the viral pneumonia that had claimed the lives of 56 people, despite the strengthening of measures taken to curb it.

"As a precautionary measure, and in line with prevention efforts throughout Hong Kong, we are temporarily closing the Disneyland Park in Hong Kong for the health and safety of our visitors and employees," the Disneyland theme park said in a statement.
