“We are working with our main partners, including India, on economic and legal mechanisms that reduce the negative impact of restrictions on the development of bilateral trade and investment ties. One of the priority areas is the expansion of settlements in national currencies, ”he said.
As an example, he cited “intergovernmental agreements on settlements and payments” with China and Turkey in national currencies, as well as arrangements for the mutual opening by central banks of corresponding correspondent accounts within the framework of BRICS.
“Russia continues the line of phased de-dollarization of the economy,” Lavrov said.
Earlier, economist Mikhail Khazin, in an interview with the NSN, assessed the prospects of de-dollarization in settlements between Russia and Turkey.
