Some have lent him the organization of the escape worthy of a Hollywood scenario of her husband Carlos Ghosn. Others attribute him a central role in the defense of her husband. Carole Ghosn, the second wife of the ex-tycoon, is the subject of an arrest warrant issued by Japan. Who is she ?

The rare time that Carlos Ghosn smiled at his press conference on Wednesday in Beirut was to his wife Carole, seated in the front row. He did not fail, that day, to express signs of affection and gratitude towards him.

Since her husband's arrest in November 2018, Carole Ghosn has been in the midst of turmoil. The couple met at a gala dinner in New York in 2013. They married three years later. Carole Nahas comes from a large family of the Christian bourgeoisie of Syrian origin, she has three children from a first marriage.

Discreet but determined, this graduate in political science who spent a large part of her life in the United States, played a central role in the defense of her husband from the start of her ordeal. She stayed by her side in Tokyo until April 2019 before she left Japan on the advice of her husband, who feared that she would in turn be in the sights of Japanese justice.

Carole Ghosn has moved heaven and earth to support her husband all over the world. It is she who is recruiting her new team of lawyers in Japan. In France, she sees former President Nicolas Sarkozy on several occasions who meets Carlos Ghosn for 90 minutes in Japan in October. In the United States, she arrested Donald Trump.

But it is in Beirut that she spends most of her time. In Beirut, where she is actively lobbying political leaders, and which will ultimately be the last refuge of Carlos Ghosn.
