Technical college and industrial robot manufacturer to form a tie-up

This is a new initiative to nurture human resources in the robot industry. National colleges of technology = technical colleges and major manufacturers of industrial robots have partnered to cooperate in on-site training.

The National College of Technology, which operates national colleges of technology, and other major industrial robot manufacturers such as Kawasaki Heavy Industries, FANUC, and Yaskawa Electric have decided to collaborate soon.

The demand for robots is increasing in various fields against the backdrop of a serious labor shortage, but in colleges of technology, the equipment used for practical training is old, and the development of human resources who are ready to fight is an issue.

For this reason, engineers from manufacturers visit the technical colleges to directly instruct students, and teachers learn cutting-edge technologies at the production sites of companies.

Industrial robots occupy nearly 60% of the market share in Japanese industrial robots, but recently there is an aim to compete with China, which is nationally committed to human resource development in this field.

The efforts of the technical college and the manufacturer are scheduled to start next year, and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, which supported the partnership between them, says, “I want to expand this activity to the national level and work on human resource development in all Japan.”
